The aim of this activity is to provide dental nurses with an update on radiation protection. The activity will include information on Continuing Professional Development (CPD), radiation risks and radiation doses. It will also provide an overview of legislation relating to dental radiography.
The outcomes for the activity are to:
- discuss what happens when an X-ray contacts the human body;
- list the legislation relevant to dental radiography;
- describe the different roles involved in dental radiography.
