After a break from undertaking walking challenges, it was back to the walking shoes for Steph – our head of education – on the 5th of July, when she took on the formidable challenge of the Stonehenge Marathon Walk, organised by Denplan/Simplyhealth. Steph used this opportunity to raise funds and awareness for Dentaid, a cause close to our hearts. Despite the relentless rain, the event proved to be a resounding success, showcasing both Steph's dedication and the collective support of the community.
The walk started at a hotel just north of Salisbury and finished back there, taking in the wonderful scenery and the incredible sight of Stonehenge along the way.
The purpose behind this gruelling endeavour was to support Dentaid, a charity that works tirelessly to improve oral health in the UK and around the world by providing dental care and education to those in need. Steph's participation in the marathon walk has not only raised vital funds but has also heightened awareness of Dentaid's mission.
Steph reflected on the experience, stating, "It was tough-going with the rain, but knowing that every step was making a difference for Dentaid kept me going. The support from the other participants was incredible and helped keep me smiling even when I didn't feel like it! I’m so grateful for everyone's encouragement and donations."
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Steph for her remarkable achievement and for embodying the spirit of giving back. Her dedication serves as an inspiration to us all, reminding us of the impact we can make, both in our professional roles and through personal initiatives.
Thank you, Steph, for your hard work and commitment. Let's continue to support Dentaid and the incredible work they do towards making oral health a right enjoyed by all.
For those interested in contributing further to Dentaid, the JustGiving page is still open for last-minute donations. Please visit Steph's JustGiving Page for more information on how you can help.
