Thanks for the replies! we are still looking for something which suits everybody and has low COSHH regs. Its really a minefield looking for a specific instrument scrub. We rang a few suppliers only to be reassured that they had the product for us "solution which can be diluted for manual scrubbing of Dental Instruments under the water line..." but when they e-mail us the image/ product details they turn out to be ultrasonic solutions or the ones used for holding instruments prior washer disinfection! I know best practice is a washer disinfector but we haven't got one. Surely we are not alone on manual scrubbing? I know it's difficult to validate and be consistant but with good staff training and PPE, policies etc. a good standard is achievable. The solution just lets us down when we do our Still looking forward to replies Nurses!
We don't routinely manually scrub but we do have Alkapharm Ultra in the cupboard in case the ultrasonic / washer disinfector both happen to break at the same time.
Hi all. we have no washer disinfector, so we are manually scrubbing, under the water line with full PPE and with long handled brushes, I'm just interested into knowing what detergent everyone is using. Looking forward to your replies Dental Nurses!
