Hi there

Its good to have plans for your future. Maxfax nursing is difficult to come across as a lot of it is done by staff nurses but there are areas to get in to to get into maxfax. I would suggest applying for a dental hospital or institute, I work in a hospital and we have an oral surgery department with several maxfax consultants and oral medicine specialists they deal with a lot of cancer and do surgeries in a nearby medical hospital (we are a dental institute/hospital) so you would get a huge varied experience in a job like that and if required you could be asked to work in another department or hospital they deal with. I cannot comment much on Ortho therapy other than its very popular and usually you need to be working in an Ortho practice or department so its very specific. Our Ortho department had 2 hours as who wanted to do this course but only one could get funding as it would mean we would be then without a nurse so could not afford to lose 2 nurses so competition could be high and could be in favour of who is there longer or who has"earned" the funding. You should just keep a look out for your area.
Good luck!

Hello everyone

I am currently studying to become a Dental Nurse and as part of my ROE i need to write about future plans for 2-5 years time.

I like the idea of progressing to become either a Maxillofacial nurse or a Orthodontic therapist.
I can not find much useful information online on how to become a maxfax nurse,so i was wondering if anyone had any tips for me

or just generally any advice on either of them?

Anything is appreciated

:)
