CPD

Johnson and Johnson Wrigley's proctor and gamble. 4everlearning. I'm restoring to the register after 8 yrs maternity lol. It's hard to do this when your not actually working in a practice. Sometimes feel alone on this and kind of crossing my fingers that I've done enough.

Hi girls

I'm starting work at a new practice and wondered if you could count infection control/ medical emergancy policies as non verifiable CPD?

Also if anyone has any info on non verifiable articles that would be amazing.

Thank you :)

This is from the GDC advice regarding CPD. You can download a copy from their website.
CPD topics
We have identified some CPD topics that dental professionals are highly recommended to do as part of the minimum verifiable CPD requirement.
The topics are:
a. Medical Emergencies: at least 10 hours in every CPD cycle – and we recommend that you do at least two hours of CPD in this every year;
b. Disinfection and Decontamination: we recommend that you do at least five hours in every CPD cycle; and
c. Radiography and radiation protection: we recommend that you do at least five hours in every CPD cycle. If you are a Dental Technician you can do CPD in materials and equipment instead of radiography and radiation protection: at least five hours in every CPD cycle.
We also recommend that you keep up to date by doing CPD (verifiable or general) in the following areas.
n Legal and ethical issues
n Complaints handling
n Oral Cancer: Early detection
n Safeguarding children and young people
n Safeguarding vulnerable adults

BDJ team have monthly free CPD. The BDA have a couple at the moment. Dentisan have the odd one re:decontamination.

Your local deanery may have free or low cost CPD courses too.
