It depeneds on the course and college. Some colleges allow registration only (no qual) for the oral health education, fluoride application and radiography courses. Ortho and sedation courses are qualified DNs only though, from the courses I've seen.

You do not technically need either of the nationally recognised qualifications but a lot of the educational institutions will not take unqualified members out of principal - for example, sandwell college birmingham. Sorry :(

However, I am sure there will be somewhere that takes on DNart nurses - after all where theres a buck to be made selling someone a service there will always be another to supply said service...hope that helps.

If I registered with the GDC after completing the DNArt CD as I had the experience but no formal qualification for Dental Nursing, am I eligible to go on to do Post Qualification courses, or do I really need to have an NVQ in oral health care or the NEBDN exam?
