Hi,
Yes of course you should ask for more than you earn today, when it comes to that but I think it is very important that you show that you are very interested in the actual job, that you are very qualified and a really god Dental Nurse first.
When you have told-shown how good you are, they will be willing to pay what you ask or somewhere between. I think, it is a good idea to ask for a little more than you really would dare and then you can show you are willing to lower that sum, a bit.
Meet half ways if you want. Not sure you should bring up that your car isn't serviced for some time.

Good Luck! :) and let us know how you got on!

ok i'll tell you all a bit about myself

*im 25 been dental nursing since september 2004 (nearly 8 yrs)
*qualified in NVQ 3 in 2006/7
*qualified in dental radiography in June 2011
*currently on £7 (11,760 per yr) so nowhere near £1000 per month
*been refused a pay rise even though im working for a big company with lots of branches (and more being built too) and ive found *out other nurses are getting £2-£3 more than me per hr. they are less qualified *ive been nursing longer than them!!
*and the workload has doubled which is affecting me physically :(
*im really struggling financially and havent serviced the car for 2Years

since last year ive been looking elsewhere but no luck, but i have an interview tomorrow. when they ask me why i want to leave my job what should i say? should i be honest about the bad pay?

help me please!! :( :(
