we have an agreement with the lab that they disinfect before sending it back. we disinfect it before it goes in perform or unoguard disinfectant. we have been told that we shouldnt use perform to disinfect it from the lab and if we are unsure if the lab hasnt disinfected it then to use chlorexidine? which we don't at present as too expensive to use as a disinfectant

I put everything in the perform ID. Work going out and coming back. It has never had an effect on any lab work.

Hi,

Emma is right most dental practices have an agreement with the labs to ensure work comes back disinfected. If you have any doubts about this soak the work in the perform and then rinse it under the tap, as most dentures come back in a bag with water anyway.

Hope this helps.

We use perform ID. Comes as a powder you put water with it give it a stir and put the appliance in the solution. This disinfects the appliance. You can get perform ID from many dental suppliers.

Hope this helps :-)

We have an agreement with our dental labs that they should disinfect it before sending it back to us. If it is disinfected they should write on the lab card or put a sticker on saying it has been disinfected.

If you are not sure i suggest you disinfect it yourself before the patient is seen!

Can I ask how do any of you make sure when you get work back from a lab that it is clean & disinfected before fitting?
