Thanks to a handy tax relief form, you can claim these expenses back, meaning you get yourself a nice little refund.

Last week, the GDC announced that they were looking for around 30 new dental professionals to become members of the Fitness to Practise panels. The application process opened on the 19th April and is due to close on the 10th May 2023.

This excellent news follows on from our efforts to make sure that we remain an ethically led company which fully supports students – we are proud to provide a good learning experience which reduces the likelihood that students will need to resit exams. We are excited about what this means for us, but also about what it means for the students on our courses. 

It’s no secret that things have been much harder in the dental industry since the pandemic. There has been a significant increase in the workload, with extra infection control duties, more demanding patients, and higher targets to be met. This is all after the redeployment scheme saw dental nurses become one the largest group of registrants – but without any of the benefits. With rising dissatisfaction in the job, and many dental nurses leaving the profession altogether, it’s time to look more closely at what can be done to improve working conditions for dental nurses across the country. 

As a dental care professional, it can be easy to feel as though your voice is lost among the crowd and not often heard. Thankfully, with the GDC making commitments to their Corporate Strategy for 2023–2025, there is now an opportunity – the first of many, in fact – to get involved and provide feedback on the proposed changes.
